Simrad NAC-3 Autopilot Computer: Reliable High-Performance Autopilot Core
Designed for larger vessels over 10 meters (35 feet) in length, the Simrad NAC-3 is a robust autopilot computer built to handle demanding steering systems with exceptional precision and power.
High-Current Drive Capability
The NAC-3 delivers high-current output to seamlessly operate a wide range of drive units, including:
- Reversible high-power pumps like the Simrad RPU160 and RPU300
- Mechanical drives such as the Simrad DD15
- Hydraulic linear rams, including the HLD2000 series
- Solenoid-controlled hydraulic valves
This makes it the ideal choice for bigger boats requiring strong, dependable autopilot performance in varied sea conditions.
Virtual Rudder Feedback for Simplified Setup
Exclusive Simrad Virtual Rudder Feedback (VRF) technology removes the need for a physical rudder feedback sensor on most outboard and sterndrive (I/O) planing hull vessels. This innovative feature significantly reduces installation complexity and cost while maintaining accurate steering response—perfect for applications where mounting a traditional feedback unit is difficult or impractical.
For boats that do require a mechanical feedback sensor, the NAC-3 fully supports SimNet or NMEA 2000® connected units like the Simrad RF25 and RF300, as well as variable-frequency rudder feedback sensors.
Straightforward System Integration and Installation
Featuring industry-standard NMEA 2000® networking and NMEA 0183® input, the NAC-3 connects effortlessly to heading sensors, rudder feedback devices, dedicated autopilot controllers, and multifunction displays anywhere on board. This plug-and-play compatibility ensures fast, flexible installation and easy expansion of your marine electronics system.
Choose the Simrad NAC-3 for powerful, reliable autopilot control that combines advanced technology with real-world practicality on larger boats.
